A Note about personal StatementsHello! I got a few messages indicating confusion about personal statements. I am sorry if you felt you didn't have enough information to begin work on the assignment. If you all remember when Marshall came and talked to you about George Mason, he went over personal statements, and you all reviewed some when you were looking over applications. Simply, a personal statement is a personal essay in which you get to tell the admissions officers more about you as a person. Applications themselves can be very impersonal: most of the information you provide are grades, extracurricular activities, and basic demographic information about your family background.
